International Society for Sanitation Studies

Annual Conference 2026

Information

  • Annual Conference 2026 website is now open.

The International Society for Sanitation Studies (ISSS) recognizes  the urgent need to achieve Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6, ensuring universal access to safe water and sanitation by 2030. While significant progress has been made, substantial challenges persist, especially in reaching marginalized populations and adapting to a rapidly changing global landscape. The ISSS Annual Conference 2026 brings together a diverse community of researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and community members to address these critical issues. By exploring innovative, interdisciplinary, and transdisciplinary approaches to Water, Sanitation, Hygiene (WASH), and Menstrual Health, we aim to foster a more equitable and sustainable future for all.
This year’s conference theme is:
“Transforming WASH for a Resilient and Equitable Future: Local Knowledge, Innovation, and Global Action”.
